We're back from a few days in Arles, right in the middle of the Rencontres de la Photo. If you'd like to make the trip (you have until October 5), we'd like to share with you our favorite photos, food and drinks.
Letizia Battaglia - "J'ai toujours cherché la vie" at the Chapelle Saint Martin du Méjan. This exhibition retraces the whole of Letizia Battaglia's creative journey through over a hundred photographs, books, newspapers and magazines, in the Sicily of the 70s. An extraordinary woman's life.

Fashion history buff? Yves-Saint-Laurent and Caroline Monnet in 2 different styles, but always at Mécanique Générale. Worth a look.
Todd Hido presents a series of works capturing moments of peaceful beauty in often desolate landscapes. A real aesthetic slap in the face!
Chambre 207 by Jean Michel André. Without spoilers, this is the story of a murder in an Avignon hotel, and of a child, now a photographer, who goes in search of his stolen history.
But also: Camille Lévêque, Nan Goldin (get there very, very early for this one, we couldn't make it 😅), and not to be missed: Maria Lassnig at the Luma.

For eating and drinking now
Best café in Arles, top welcome, special mention for the morning briche. Go to MAZETTE place Antonelle!
Levain is the best foccacia around. The sourdough bread (of course) is also extra, as is their selection of drinks.
La Médina, quick and discreet service, vegetarian alternative. On the all-too-cute Place Paul Doumer.

But also : Le Sauvage for their pompe à l'huile, Parcelle 22 for their natural wines, Scaramouche for their ice creams, Vague café for their mouth-watering menu, Balkania for a drink as the sun sets over the arena.
