As you may have noticed, the 2025 summer shoot took place in Les Goudes. Les Goudes is paradise on earth! At the end of the world, with the sea all around.
We first strolled along the route de la Maronnaise 2 years ago. Under a blazing sun and with the sole aim of getting our feet wet at Passage des Croisettes. An oasis at the end of a cross. From then on, we'll be going back every 2 months, even in winter. So we can't claim to be Marseillais.e for all that, but we do know a thing or two about Les Goudes.
If you're coming by bus, good luck. I'm joking, but bus no. 20 isn't the fastest. If you're arriving by bike, bon courage too, as the Marseillais rider grazes the handlebars. Finally, if you're arriving by car, drive along Boulevard Alexandre Delabre and park at the very top of Les Goudes. You can start by exploring the Blockhaus des Goudes. Watch out for children, it's really steep! Then retrace your steps and head for the village (don't try to get to the Anse de la Maronnaise directly - we've tried 1,000 times - there's no way, not even on foot).
Heading towards the village, you turn left at the corner where the Gelataria des Goudes is located. The Navette ice cream is clearly the best. If you want to stay in Les Goudes (and this is the best way to discover it), we encourage you to go here: THE CABANON DES GOUDES. It's beautiful, it's well-located, and you'll be immersed in local life. Petting the turtles of the neighbor on your right, or having an aperitif with the neighbor on your left. And when evening comes, you'll have this part of the world all to yourself.
A little further into the village, you'll find Paul's for takeaway pizzas. Reservations are essential, otherwise you'll be scolded by thepizza chef. Well, even if you make a reservation, he'll lecture you. But I can assure you that the anchovy and Provençal pizzas are to die for! (ps: prepare cash, you'll save money)
And then we walk. Direction route de la Maronnaise, then rue Désiré Pelaprat. It's steep, but so beautiful! You'll want to go for a swim as you pass l'Anse, but you'll have to be strong, so we continue on towards the Baie des Singes. Often very crowded, but the lunar scenery (in the 1st sense of the word) is well worth the detour. A small port on your right, also very pretty.
Only on the way back can you bask in the sun and swim in the often turquoise water, surrounded by rocks that seem to protect you from the outside world.
When your hair is matted, your skin is cracking from the dried salt, and you're a little thirsty because there's no more water in your gourd, it's time to get back on the road. Head for the Marine des Goudes at the very entrance to the village for a pastis (don't forget the water, as you're thirsty). The atmosphere in the street is convivial, and will make you forget the absence of a sea view.
Enjoy your visit!
